Dinner, Tuesday, October 27, 2008

This October dinner saw a good turnout of members and guests alike. Thank you all for visiting and enjoying the evening! As the members arrived they were each given an invitation card, which was very well received!

Dinner began with a garden salad and then we were served roast beef (with hearty gravy), creamed potatoes, broccoli, and cauliflower, and for dessert enjoyed a cream-decorated lemon sponge - again delicious!

In her address, Muriel again invited us to attend the 40th Birthday celebrations, which will be held at the Justice Institute on THURSDAY evening, December 4, 2008, and the guest speaker is the very well-known historian, Mr. Archie Miller. We hope that as many members and guests as possible can attend on this most auspicious occasion. Please RSVP your attendance to Earl at 604.520.3889, e-mail:

Our guest speaker this evening was the very lovely and knowledgeable, Margo Lupien, who is the Executive Director of the Royal City Manor. Ms. Lupien joined us in the theatre and outlined the Manor, its services and benefits as a well-established long-term care facility. Thank you so much for your professionalism and eloquence, and the time taken to clearly answer questions from the audience.

A reminder to the Board of Directors that the next meeting will take place on Wednesday evening, November 5, 2008 - 7-9 p.m. at the Plaskett Room in the Library.

Look forward to seeing you at the 40th Birthday Celebrations on Thursday, December 4th!

Best wishes,
